This enewsletter was created just for you - our special guests - to keep you informed about changes at the Inn, upcoming events, delightful getaway packages and savings available only to our enewsletter subscribers. We hope this information will be helpful to you as you plan your next vacation or long weekend, and we certainly would be delighted to see you at the Inn soon.

Spring into Summer Special

What a beautiful time of year to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains and to relax on one of our spacious porches in the warm weather. The hummingbirds are sipping from our front porch feeders, and the mountain laurel that surrounds the Inn will have spectacular blooms in just a few days. Our pool is open and ready for sunbathers and swimmers alike.

For those of you who want to start your summer with a visit to the Inn, plan to stay with us for three nights in June and receive a 20% discount off of your third night's rate. Make your reservations online today or call us at 276-930-1057. (Packages may not be combined.)

Packages and Gifts

A Romantic Weekday Getaway with the one you love will add some romance to your life. Enjoy a picnic under a covered bridge, at Lover's Leap or by the stream in our front yard. Sip wine while enjoying the views of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our romantic weekday package includes the following: two nights stay in a queen room with a private bath, a wine and cheese picnic basket, and a $25 gift certificate toward lunch or a tasting/tour at the Chateau Morrisette. The cost of this package is $260. (An upgrade to the Pride of Virginia king room is $40 additional.) Package price does not include tax or gratuity. Reservations are necessary and are based on availability. The package is available Sunday - Thursday nights. Please give us 48 hours notice to prepare your special package. A Note from the Innkeepers

We wanted to say hello to all of you and to introduce ourselves to guests who have not stayed at the Inn since we became the Innkeepers in the summer of '05. Our names are Mike & Dora Jane Barwick. Originally from South Carolina, we specialize in showing that famous Southern hospitality to our guests.

We made the move to the Inn with our two dogs, Maggie and Cricket. These sweet girls enjoy keeping our guests company on the grounds. Since arriving here, we've adopted Cat, a lovely tuxedo kitty, who needed a good home. Our three 'babies' understand that some of you may be allergic to their fur, and so they do not visit inside the guest part of the Inn.

We've made several changes and updates to the Inn since our move here. Some of the rooms have gotten facelifts. We've added a new half-bath on the first floor for use while swimming in our pool. There are new plants and flowers in the gardens.

Caring for this fabulous Inn and for our guests is a true pleasure for us. We have so enjoyed getting to know those of you who have stayed with us and are looking forward to meeting the rest of you. Come visit soon.

With summer coming, many great events are planned in the surrounding counties. Pick your favorite event to attend and plan a vacation at the Mountain Rose Inn.

  • Black Dog Concerts at the Chateau Morrisette (Begin June 3) - View concert schedule and purchase tickets.
  • 25th Annual Beach Music Festival (June 9-10) in Stuart, VA - Order tickets online.
  • Covered Bridge Festival (June 17) highlights two of Virginia's eight covered bridges and is held in Woolwine, VA. Come enjoy the food, crafts, artist demonstrations, music, car show, hay rides and horse drawn wagon rides.
  • Wine Down the Music Trail (July 1-2) is a celebration of fine wine, music, food and mountain crafts on the Blue Ridge Parkway close to the Villa Appalaccia and Chateau Morrisette Wineries! More information available here.
  • FloydFest 5 (July 28-30) is a three-day World Music Festival held annually in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, showcasing the best in World, Bluegrass, Reggae, Folk, African and Appalachian music, as well as quality local Arts and Crafts.
