| The Inn and the surrounding 100 acres are owned by the Wolcott & Rhodes families. Not wanting to see their beloved childhood home fall into ruin, they devised a plan to open their home up as a retreat for travelers to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Inn is one of the oldest and most well-known B&Bs in the area. |
The Mountain Rose Inn is currently managed by Innkeepers, Mike & Dora Jane Barwick. Originally from South Carolina, they enjoy working together as a team and specialize in making their guests' experiences at the Inn ones to remember.
Caring for this fabulous Inn and for its guests is their current passion in life. They are certainly hoping that you will come visit soon. |

On the occasion that Mike & Dora Jane are away, Carl & Carol Rupprecht, the Inn's assistant Innkeepers, warmly greet and care for guests. After living in Rhode Island for many years, Carl & Carol moved back to Woolwine to enjoy retirement. One of their great joys is being gracious hosts at the Inn and providing guests with a wonderful stay in their beloved Blue Ridge Mountains.
Part of the Inn's charm is found in its current four-legged occupant. Cat, a rescue who came to the Inn in 2005, enjoys greeting guests and keeping them company when they are exploring the Inn's grounds. He is often found curled up napping in one of the Inn's front porch rocking chairs. Mike & Dora Jane's 'boy' understands that some folks may be allergic to his fur, and so he does not visit inside the Inn. |
